Xdinary Heroes Withdraw From Summer Sonic 2026
According to ‘Summer Sonic 2026′ organizers, the cancellation of Xdinary Heroes’ performance followed “a request from the band’s agency to withdraw.” The festival expressed its sincere apologies to “all audience members who were looking forward to their performance,” noting that no replacement artist would be added to the lineup. Xdinary Heroes had been slated for two performances: on August 14 at the Pacific Stage in Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe and on August 16 at the Massive Stage in Osaka’s Maishima Sports Island.
Gunil’s Departure and Agency’s Response
The band’s sudden withdrawal appears to be directly connected to the recent departure of their leader and drummer, Gunil. On the very same day, August 13, JYP Entertainment released a statement announcing that Gunil had officially left Xdinary Heroes and terminated his exclusive contract with the agency. While JYP did not elaborate on the specific reasons, it is understood that Gunil’s departure comes in the wake of serious allegations made by an individual identified only as ‘A.’ Claiming to be Gunil’s former girlfriend, ‘A’ posted on an online community, alleging that Gunil had made disparaging remarks concerning fans, among other accusations.
