Indie Powerhouses 10CM and Soran Unite as Siblan for MINTPAPER 20th Special Live
Indie darlings 10CM and Soran recently joined forces to create the super-project group Siblan, headlining the ‘MINTPAPER 20th SPECIAL LIVE’ at Yonsei University’s auditorium on August 1 and 2. This highly anticipated collaboration saw the two beloved acts share the stage for a unique joint performance, rather than opting for individual sets, much to the delight of their dedicated fanbase.
An Unforgettable Three-Hour Spectacle
Over a dynamic three-hour spectacle, Siblan treated the audience to an impressive repertoire of 24 songs. The setlist included captivating covers of each other’s beloved hits, showcasing their versatility and mutual appreciation. Beyond the music, the concert was filled with the charming banter both artists are known for. Go Youngbae humorously embraced his role as “leader and main vocalist,” while Kwon Jungyeol playfully declared himself the “fan member and variety show specialist.” Their witty exchanges, including jokes about their “rookie spirit,” kept the energy light and the audience laughing throughout the evening.
Siblan: A Match Made in Indie Heaven
For those new to the Korean indie scene, 10CM is the acclaimed solo project of singer-songwriter Kwon Jungyeol, a veteran cherished for his distinctive voice and acoustic melodies. Soran, an equally influential indie band, is fronted by the charismatic Go Youngbae. Their combined star power as Siblan truly lit up MINTPAPER’s 20th-anniversary celebration, marking a memorable milestone for the long-running music platform.
Fan Engagement and Future Promises
The excitement extended beyond the stage. Fans eagerly snapped up limited-edition Siblan merchandise, which sold out rapidly. For those who missed out, exclusive Siblan photoframes became available nationwide from August 3, ensuring everyone could take home a piece of the special collaboration. A touching fan event also took place, where attendees penned heartfelt letters to friends, with the promise of future delivery a year later, adding a unique emotional layer to the experience.
In a moment of characteristic humor, Go Youngbae announced the “disbandment” of Siblan at the show’s conclusion, playfully citing “personality differences.” However, fans won’t have to wait too long for a reunion! The project group is set to make a triumphant return to the stage for a performance at the Grand Mint Festival 2026 in October, promising another unforgettable experience for K-Pop and indie enthusiasts alike.
