NCT Wish Dominates Oricon Daily Chart with New Single
NCT Wish continues its impressive streak in Japan, with their third single, “Yo-i-don!/Boy Meets Girl,” soaring to the top of Oricon’s Daily Single Ranking. SM Entertainment confirmed the physical single’s success on Oricon’s Daily Single Ranking on Monday, marking another significant achievement for the rising K-Pop subunit.
Building on Previous Success and Unique Appeal
This triumph follows the path of their first EP in Japan, “Wishlist,” which also dominated the daily chart for two consecutive days back in January. The rapid success firmly establishes NCT Wish as a group to watch in the highly competitive Japanese music market.
The six-member subunit launched their third single just last week, commemorating the release with a special showcase in Tokyo. The event was notably emceed by DJ Koo of Japanese group TRF, who sang the original version of the 1994 mega-hit “Boy Meets Girl.” This iconic track is one of the two main songs featured on the new single, creating a nostalgic yet fresh appeal. The vibrant “Yo-i-don!” was previously unveiled alongside its captivating music video, building anticipation ahead of the album drop.
A Prolific Presence in the Japanese Market
With four of its six members hailing from Japan, NCT Wish possesses a unique connection with its local fanbase. Since its debut in 2023, the group has quickly built a robust discography in the country, releasing three physical singles, one studio album, and a mini album, demonstrating their prolific output and dedicated focus on the Japanese market.
