Han Seo Hee Under Fire: Fake Romance for Ad, Model Rates Revealed

Han Seo Hee Under Fire: Fake Romance for Ad, Model Rates Revealed

Han Seo Hee’s “Fake Relationship” Scandal Explodes

Former idol trainee Han Seo Hee, a figure no stranger to controversy, is once again under fire after admitting her recent, highly public relationship with a handsome foreign model was entirely a paid advertisement. The revelation has ignited widespread backlash from K-Pop fans and netizens who feel misled by her actions.

The situation escalated dramatically when eagle-eyed netizens unearthed the model’s publicly listed collaboration rates. This discovery fueled intense speculation that the elaborate fake romance, meticulously crafted for social media, might have come with a hefty price tag, potentially exceeding ₩2.00 million KRW (approximately $1,390 USD). The calculated cost adds another layer of intrigue and outrage to the unfolding drama.

The initial spark of the controversy occurred on August 1. Han Seo Hee uploaded a series of affectionate photos and videos featuring French model and influencer Arthur Moreno. The content, depicting the two enjoying what appeared to be a romantic getaway in Paris, immediately led to questions about a new relationship. Rather than clarifying the nature of their connection, Han seemed to lean into the assumption, implicitly confirming the romance.

Thank you for showing so much interest in my man. But please don’t create strange rumors. He is a normal man. Please look upon us fondly.

— Han Seo Hee

Her subsequent statements left little room for interpreting the posts as a mere professional collaboration. Han Seo Hee openly referred to Moreno as “my man” and explicitly asked the public to refrain from spreading rumors about him. This direct appeal further solidified the perception of a genuine romance, leading entertainment outlets and online communities to widely report that she was, in fact, dating a foreign model.

However, the carefully constructed facade began to crumble rapidly by August 3. Han abruptly announced a complete reversal, stating, “I don’t have anything like a lover. You are all my lovers,” in a comment that many found disingenuous. She then claimed her trip to Paris was purely for work and that she had simply asked Moreno to film a Reel with her as a professional courtesy.

I told you I was going to Paris for work. I didn’t know people would dig him up like this. I just asked, ‘Do you want to film a Reel?’ and he said yes. This is seriously driving me crazy.

— Han Seo Hee

The full extent of the deception soon became clear. Han subsequently directed her followers to a fortune-telling website, ultimately revealing that the supposed relationship had been meticulously staged as promotional content. In essence, the seemingly candid displays of affection, her public acknowledgment of Moreno as “my man,” and her plea for netizens to cease rumor-spreading, were all, apparently, part of an elaborate advertising stunt designed to generate buzz for a client.

This revelation left many viewers deeply confused and frustrated. The central question remained: why did Han Seo Hee go beyond simply posting couple-themed content and actively encourage the belief that the relationship was authentic, only to pull the rug out from under her audience days later?

The Cost of a Faux Romance: Model’s Rates Revealed

The fake dating scandal then took another unexpected turn when Arthur Moreno was identified as a professional model readily available for paid brand collaborations. Moreno’s profile on the influencer marketplace Collabstr provides a clear picture of his services: a 24-year-old French creator based in New York, specializing in lifestyle, fashion, fitness, and beauty content. His advertised packages offer a glimpse into the potential costs: $335 USD for one Instagram feed post, $450 for three Instagram Stories, and $675 for one Instagram Reel. It’s important to note that the platform also allows for customized package negotiations, meaning these public figures might not precisely reflect the terms of any private agreement.

Based on the reported number and types of posts uploaded by Han Seo Hee – specifically, two photo posts, two Stories, and one Reel – one Korean outlet meticulously estimated that engaging Moreno for such content, using his listed packages, could have totaled approximately $1,645 USD.

Han herself directly denied hiring him, stating defensively, “I didn’t pay him. I was thankful that he readily agreed to do it, so I bought him a meal. Please stop.”

Han Seo Hee Denies Payment, Fans Remain Skeptical

Her direct denial, however, failed to quell the burgeoning speculation among netizens. Many questioned the likelihood of a professional model with clearly advertised collaboration rates agreeing to participate in multiple promotional pieces without any financial compensation, merely out of gratitude for a meal. Despite the skepticism, the published rates alone do not conclusively prove that money exchanged hands. Moreno’s Collabstr page explicitly highlights the availability of negotiated arrangements, leaving the exact financial circumstances behind their collaboration shrouded in uncertainty.

Public Outrage: Deception vs. Advertisement

What viewers found considerably harder to dismiss was Han Seo Hee’s own controversial handling of the entire situation. Had she simply posted an obvious advertisement featuring a clear fictional boyfriend concept, the content might not have garnered the same intense negative reaction. Instead, she deliberately allowed dating speculation to flourish, went as far as referring to Moreno as her partner, and then publicly warned netizens not to create “strange rumors” about him, all before finally admitting that the entire romance was a fabrication for an ad.

The backlash from the online community was immediate and severe. One commenter harshly accused Han Seo Hee of being desperate for attention, while another commenter distilled the entire controversy into a single, brutally frank observation that resonated with many:

“She must be absolutely desperate for attention… Her entire life is a lie, LOL. This is hilarious. Why did she even lie? ‘You are all my lovers.’ LOL. Even a politician wouldn’t use a line that corny. Why are they still writing articles about this unemployed woman? Are ordinary people considered celebrities now too? What a pathetic woman. Nobody asked, and nobody cares.”

Han Seo Hee’s Long History of Controversy

Han Seo Hee first entered the public eye after appearing on MBC’s Star Audition Season 3 in 2012 and subsequently training as an idol trainee. Her name, however, later became extensively associated with a series of drug-related convictions and numerous public controversies that have continually placed her in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. She received a suspended prison sentence after being convicted of using marijuana and LSD with former BIGBANG member T.O.P in 2016. She was subsequently sentenced to prison after methamphetamine use was detected while she was still under probation, which was followed by an additional prison sentence in a separate drug case.

Han Seo Hee completed her various sentences and was officially released in November 2023. Since her release, she has remained active primarily through her social media platforms and personal blogging, where her posts consistently attract a significant amount of both attention and criticism, cementing her controversial public image.
