BABYMONSTER Rami’s Prolonged Hiatus and Fan Concerns
BABYMONSTER’s Rami has been a topic of intense discussion and concern among fans since her unexpected hiatus. On May 9, 2025, it was announced that BABYMONSTER’s Rami would go on hiatus to focus on her health.
Since then, fans have waited for updates on her return, though official ones have been far and in between. Rami was spotted in August 2026 for the first time in over a year, leading to more speculation over her status with the group.
The long wait and continued lack of clear communication from YG Entertainment have understandably left fans anxious and fueled widespread speculation about her future with the group.
Controversy Surrounds Fan Project Cake
Now, fans have reacted to another concern involving Rami, one that has significantly reignited worries about her potential return and YG’s overall handling of her situation.
On September 6, a Philippines based fanbase for the group shared the success of their fan project, a cake sent to the group. The members shared that the cake was received, a successful project.

However, it appeared that some questions were posed about the cake only featuring six characters, to which the fanbase shared that originally there were plans for seven, but that management requested that Rami’s symbol be removed.
Fans Demand Answers Amid YG’s Mixed Signals
For clarification: We originally pitched the design with Rami’s animal symbol, but management requested that we remove it.
We hope you understand, and hopefully we can include Rami in a future project. 💙

The revelation sent immediate shockwaves through the fandom, as many interpreted it as a profoundly discouraging sign regarding Rami’s future with BABYMONSTER. This direct intervention by management, specifically requesting the removal of Rami’s symbol, only intensified existing fan frustration and sparked outrage. In response, fans shared their anger with YG Entertainment’s continued inactivity and mixed signals involving Rami.

If u aren’t bringing Rami back let us know. What’s the point of NOT updating fans about their idol’s wellbeing and making them rely on the family members for update? YG is so weird for this literally https://t.co/NzTQIwDUSn

🛑 YG’s management team requested the removal of Rami’s animal emoji [🐬] from the fan project cake made by @thebaemonph.
This is incredibly rude and highly unprofessional behavior from YG. It shows a complete lack of basic manners for #RAMI & the fanbase. pic.twitter.com/0OwYhar44O
