Yoo Jae Hwan’s Dramatic Transformation Goes Viral
K-Pop composer and entertainer Yoo Jae Hwan has once again become a hot topic, but this time for a dramatic transformation during his recent court appearance. The star, who previously garnered attention for a significant weight loss, is now sparking discussions for a vastly different look, drawing viral attention across online communities.
On July 16, the Seoul Southern District Court held the sentencing hearing for Yoo Jae Hwan’s appeal regarding his conviction for indecent assault. Fans and netizens alike were taken aback by his unexpected new image.
A Transformed Appearance in Court

The composer and entertainer arrived at court looking noticeably different from his previous public appearances. He had dyed his hair an orange-blonde color, wore glasses, and appeared to have gained a significant amount of weight. This drastic change immediately became the focal point of discussions.

Yoo Jae Hwan was previously known for losing around 30kg through dieting, but his recent weight gain became a topic of discussion online. The stark contrast between his former image and his current appearance has certainly captivated public curiosity, leading to widespread speculation and commentary.
Appeal Rejected, Original Ruling Upheld
During the hearing, the court rejected his appeal and upheld the original ruling, which sentenced him to a ₩5.00 million KRW (about $3,380 USD) fine and ordered him to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program. Despite the public fascination with his changed look, the legal proceedings concluded with the original verdict standing.
Yoo Jae Hwan Continues to Deny Allegations
Following the ruling, Yoo Jae Hwan spoke to the media and continued to deny the allegations, claiming he had been unfairly accused. He argued that the victim’s current claims contradicted their previous statements and maintained that no inappropriate physical contact took place. The entertainer reiterated his stance, asserting his innocence despite the court’s decision.
“The victim claims that I touched them, but they were the one who suggested going to a karaoke room first. We sang together for about an hour and a half there, and I understand they testified that nothing happened at the time. This contradicts their current claims.
At the time, I was active in the entertainment industry, so people around me would recognize me when I was outside. It doesn’t make sense that I would have done something like that. When we parted ways, I only greeted them and gave them a high five. There was no physical contact like the victim claims.
I’m really unfairly treated. Will I be able to continue my activities? I plan to take this all the way to the Supreme Court and continue fighting until the end.”
