Yoo Ah In Signs With New Agency Billions, Prepares For Acting Comeback
Actor Yoo Ah In is set to resume his acting career under a new agency, Billions, after a significant period of reflection. The agency officially announced on August 21 that it had signed an exclusive contract with the esteemed actor, signaling a fresh start for his professional journey.
Billions shared its strategic approach regarding Yoo Ah In’s return, stating, “After careful consideration and a thorough process, we decided to embark on a new beginning together.” The agency emphasized its commitment to “accompany the actor from a long-term perspective so that he can fulfill his responsibilities and rebuild trust with the public.” This indicates a mindful and comprehensive plan to support his re-entry into the industry.
Going beyond traditional management, Billions intends to serve as a genuine partner. The agency promised, “We will create an environment in which he can healthily continue his activities,” and added, “We will manage all aspects of Yoo Ah In’s activities and support him so that he can fully focus on his responsibilities as an actor.”
Billions Addresses Past Controversy With Emphasis on Reflection
However, the agency took a very cautious stance, directly addressing the actor’s past legal issues. Yoo Ah In was convicted and received a suspended sentence over repeated drug use. Given this, Billions repeatedly emphasized the importance of “reflection” and “responsibility.” The agency stated, “We will not take the time he spent in the past lightly,” and affirmed, “We fully understand that reflection and a sincere attitude are necessary.” They continued, “We will be a responsible partner so that Yoo Ah In can honestly forge his own path. Please continue to watch and support his journey moving forward.”
This marks Yoo Ah In’s first major acting comeback in approximately three years since the allegations surrounding his drug use emerged in 2023. At the time, the controversy led to significant career impacts, including his stepping down from Netflix’s ‘Hellbound’ Season 2. Additionally, the release schedules of several films featuring Yoo Ah In were affected, with ‘The Match’ (2025) and ‘Hi.Five’ (2025) eventually seeing delayed releases. He was subsequently indicted on charges of repeatedly using illegal drugs, ultimately receiving a final ruling last year of one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence.
Yoo Ah In’s Comeback Project: Film ‘Vampire’
His highly anticipated comeback project is director Jang Jae Hyun’s film ‘Vampire.’ Yoo Ah In has been cast as a contract killer who pursues a pagan group. The cast recently held a script reading for the film, signaling that production is well underway.
