Super Junior’s Shindong always brings the laughs, and his recent appearance on MBN and Channel S’s “Moo No Plan 4” was no exception! Joining hosts Jun Hyun Moo and Kwaktube for a delicious food adventure in Hapcheon, Shindong dished out some truly unforgettable stories, including a jaw-dropping tale of a near-physical altercation with none other than fellow Super Junior member Yesung.
The topic of Super Junior’s infamous “sibling squabbles” naturally came up, with Jun Hyun Moo probing, “Whenever Super Junior comes up, the stories always involve members fighting. Have you ever fought with someone?” Without missing a beat, Shindong leaned in with a mischievous grin, declaring, “It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t share a fighting story. There was a time I almost had a big fight with Yesung.”
The Diet-Fueled Almost-Fight with Yesung
Shindong vividly recounted the scene, painting a picture that had everyone in stitches. “I was on a strict diet and trying hard to hold back at night. I went to Inkigayo and sat alone on the sofa eating an idol sandwich.” It was a moment of weakness, a forbidden delight, when Yesung’s innocent-sounding comment became the spark that nearly ignited a full-blown Super Junior rumble. “I don’t remember exactly what Yesung said, but when he said, ‘You’re eating again?’ it really struck a nerve.”
He continued, describing the emotional turmoil of dieting. “It was nothing serious, but since I was dieting and struggling at the time, hearing that made me really angry, so I teased Yesung back.” The tension escalated quickly. “Then Yesung said, ‘Hey, do you want to die?’ and I bluntly responded, ‘Aren’t you a crazy xxxxxxx?’ even though he’s a hyung.” Shindong, a hyung himself, acknowledged the gravity of his words, adding to the humor.
What makes the story even more iconic is the reaction of the other Super Junior members. Shindong confessed, “Since Yesung is slim, I thought I could win. I even did judo when I was younger.” He then revealed the priceless detail: “The members nearby didn’t step in but gathered around with excited looks like they were waiting for a show. The manager eventually came and stopped us,” much to the amusement of the entire studio.
Ranking Super Junior’s Fighting Prowess
But the revelations didn’t stop there! Shindong, ever the entertainer, then delved into a topic K-Pop fans always speculate about: who among Super Junior’s diverse lineup would win in a fight?
He confidently ranked the members, starting with an undisputed champion. “In my opinion, first place would be Siwon. He practices taekwondo and learned boxing while acting in dramas.” Given Siwon’s famously athletic build and martial arts background, this comes as no surprise!
The second and third spots, however, were a bit more contentious. “Second place is a bit ambiguous, but I think I’m either second or third. Donghae would fight well too—he’s muscular and does boxing. I really can’t beat him in boxing.” This friendly rivalry between Shindong and Donghae adds another layer to the group’s dynamic.
As for the rest of the members, Shindong playfully stated, “The rest are all about the same.” But he saved the best for last, definitively declaring the member at the bottom of the fighting totem pole. “Last place would definitely be Ryeowook. I think he would fight by playing with cat-like light punches, pinching, and biting,” causing another round of laughter.
This hilarious glimpse into Super Junior’s dorm life and behind-the-scenes dynamics proves once again why they’ve remained beloved icons for so long. From diet-induced squabbles to playful rankings, Shindong’s candid stories offer fans a precious peek into the enduring camaraderie of the legendary group.
