YouTuber Park We’s KTX Incident Sparks Controversy
A storm of controversy is currently engulfing the K-Pop world and beyond, as criticism stemming from a YouTuber’s recent CCTV footage release has now extended to his wife, a beloved K-Pop idol. The heart of the issue traces back to famous paraplegic YouTuber Park We. During an incident while disembarking from a KTX train, his wheelchair wheel reportedly caught the foot of a social service worker who was helping to secure the ramp, causing him to fall forward. Park We subsequently uploaded the CCTV footage of the entire incident to his YouTube channel, expressing significant upset over the worker’s placement of their foot on the ramp.

Backlash and Park We’s Apology
Following the video’s release, a fierce debate quickly erupted online, raising critical questions about privacy, portrait rights, and public accountability. As the controversy intensified and opinions polarized, Park We ultimately deleted the contentious video and issued an apology, acknowledging that he had not adequately considered the social service worker’s perspective or position.
Song Jieun Faces Unfair Social Media Criticism
Meanwhile, his wife, former Secret member Song Jieun’s recent social media posts were flooded with critical comments related to Park We. Some netizens wrote, “Don’t you care that your husband uploaded that video?” “The couple doesn’t look good together,” and “Please keep your husband in check,” directing their criticism toward Song Jieun as well.

It’s crucial to note that Song Jieun herself had no direct involvement in the initial CCTV footage release or the subsequent decision to upload it. Despite her clear separation from the incident, many fans and netizens are now expressing deep concern that she is unfairly being targeted and subjected to intense backlash on her social media simply due to her marital connection to Park We.
