K-pop fans and netizens are currently abuzz with the latest celebrity scandal involving actor and former BE:FIRST member, Ryoki Miyama. He’s currently embroiled in fresh controversy after reports claimed he added unscripted kiss scenes with his co-star Maria Kano amid allegations of an affair.
The Allegations Unfold: Unscripted Kisses and an Affair
According to Japanese outlet Shukan Bunshun, Miyama (who is married to actress Shuri) allegedly became involved with Kano while the two were appearing together in the stage production of Crash Landing On You.
The report claimed that when Miyama and Kano first began working together, they had agreed there would be no physical contact between them. However, the two allegedly later broke that agreement, and Miyama reportedly created kiss scenes that were not included in the original script.
A Double Standard? Miyama’s Rules for His Wife
The controversy has drawn even more attention because Miyama allegedly had strict rules regarding his wife’s acting projects.
Reports claimed that when Shuri appeared in productions, the couple had agreed that “kiss scenes and intimate scenes were absolutely not allowed.”
The Aftermath: Apologies and Remaining Performances
The stage production featuring Miyama and Kano reportedly includes two kiss scenes. With 10 performances remaining after the Tokyo shows from July 23 and the Osaka performances from July 31 to August 2, the two are expected to perform the unscripted kiss scenes around 20 more times.
Maria Kano issued an apology via her agency after the news broke.
Miyama has not publicly addressed the latest claims at this time.
