RESCENE: The Rising K-Pop Girl Group Dominating Charts
RESCENE, the five-member K-Pop girl group under The Muze Entertainment, burst onto the scene on March 26, 2024, with their compelling single album ‘Re:Scene.’ In just a short time, the group has become a hot topic, especially following the release of their first special single, “Pretty Girl,” on July 8, 2026. This highly anticipated track is a fresh reinterpretation of KARA’s beloved hit of the same name, captivating both new and long-time K-Pop fans.
The strategic reinterpretation proved to be a massive success, with “Pretty Girl” soaring to No. 1 on the prestigious MelOn TOP100 chart shortly after its release. This chart-topping achievement hasn’t been a standalone event; RESCENE’s previous releases, including “Deja Vu,” “Love Attack,” “Runaway,” and “Pinball,” have also been steadily climbing the MelOn Daily Chart, MelOn TOP100, and other significant music charts. Notably, “Love Attack,” from their 2024 mini album ‘Scenedrome,’ gained renewed attention earlier this year after captivating content from member Woni’s YouTube channel went viral, drawing even more eyes to the group.
As more K-pop fans discover the undeniable talent and charm of RESCENE, interest in the group’s individual members has exploded. Get ready to dive deep and meet the five talented women who make up this rising sensation: Woni, Liv, Minami, May, and Zena.
Meet the Talented Members of RESCENE
Woni: The Charismatic Leader
Jeong Woni stands as the steadfast leader and the oldest member of RESCENE. Born on May 25, 2004, in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea, she built a strong foundation through her schooling at Okpo Elementary School, Okpo Seongji Middle School, and Geoje Jeil High School. Her passion for performance shone through early, as she was an active member of her school’s dance clubs throughout her middle and high school years. Woni began her trainee journey around the summer of her senior year in high school, setting her on the path to stardom.
Before her official debut, Woni already had a taste of the spotlight, appearing in a Japanese advertisement for the Google Pixel 7 in 2022. Her versatility extends beyond music; since July 9, 2025, she has been a regular cast member on MBC’s ‘Welcome to Sports.’ Woni’s popularity skyrocketed even further in 2026 when her personal YouTube channel went viral, amassing over one million subscribers. This surge in fame led to an exciting collaboration, as she later appeared alongside fellow member Minami in Taeyeon’s “Bansanka” music video, showcasing her growing influence in the industry.
Liv: The Athletic Powerhouse
Jin Kyung-eun, known by her compelling stage name Liv, holds the position of the second-oldest member within RESCENE. Born on October 11, 2006, in Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, Liv’s educational journey took her through Yulhyun Middle School, Sukji High School, and later, the prestigious Hanlim Arts School. Liv is renowned for her exceptional athleticism, demonstrating prowess in a variety of sports. She honed her focus and precision through practicing archery during elementary school and continued to cultivate her performance skills as an active member of dance clubs throughout both middle and high school.
Liv’s talent was recognized by many long before her debut with The Muze Entertainment. She bravely auditioned for numerous major agencies, including industry giants like JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, Kakao Entertainment, MODHAUS, BE:LIFT Lab, and THEBLACKLABEL, showcasing her determination and skill. Her vocal abilities also shone through when she lent her voice to the OST “Even If I Can’t Have You, My Love Is Enough” for the film ‘Before We Knew,’ proving her versatility as an artist.
Minami: The Multi-Talented Japanese Member
Ito Minami brings an international flair to RESCENE as the group’s Japanese member. Born on November 29, 2006, in Tsushima, Nagasaki, she later grew up in Chiba, Japan. Her dedication to her craft brought her to Hanlim Arts School, and she is notably fluent in Korean, showcasing her commitment to her career in the K-Pop industry. Minami first captured public attention as a finalist on the rigorous survival show ‘My Teenage Girl,’ where she achieved an impressive 13th place overall. She further gained popularity for her distinctive gyaru style, and her humorous “Geoje, Yahoo!” meme became a viral sensation after its appearance on Woni’s YouTube channel. Minami’s vocal prowess was also highlighted on August 3, 2025, when she appeared on ‘King of The Masked Singer,’ and she, like Woni, also featured in Taeyeon’s “Bansanka” music video.
Beyond her captivating idol career, Minami possesses a remarkable and refined talent: she is an accomplished calligrapher. Her dedication to traditional Japanese calligraphy spans eight years, a journey that saw her earn first place in a highly competitive Chiba Prefecture tournament and even receive recognition in a local newspaper. Her expertise is officially certified, allowing her to teach calligraphy to elementary school students, a testament to her profound skill and passion.
May: The Aspiring Leader
Lee Ye Bin, professionally known as May, is a vital member of RESCENE. She entered the world on August 19, 2008, in Ilsanseo-gu, Daehwa-dong, Gyeonggi-do, Goyang-si, South Korea. May’s formative years included attending Jangchon Elementary School and Daehwa Middle School. Demonstrating a clear passion for movement and performance, she was an active member of a dance club throughout her school years. May also exhibited strong leadership qualities early on, serving in significant roles as both the head of the athletic department and the head of the physical education club, highlighting her organizational skills and initiative.
May’s journey to RESCENE involved a notable decision: she was offered the opportunity to become a member of the well-known group tripleS but ultimately chose to pursue her path with The Muze Entertainment. When asked about her inspiration, May has consistently cited the iconic Lee Hyori as the artist who motivated her to embark on a music career, aspiring to a similar level of artistry and influence.
Zena: The Viral Maknae and Visual
Kim Ga-young, universally recognized by her enchanting stage name Zena, is not only the visual center of RESCENE but also the beloved maknae (youngest member) of the group. Before her official debut, Zena showcased her potential on the survival program ‘Stars Awakening,’ though she was eliminated in episode 7. Her striking visuals were also recognized when she served as the visual model for TYRA:, a character from the innovative AI girl group, MAVE:.
