A popular ENHYPEN fansite has tragically died after taking her own life during a TikTok livestream.
According to Yonhap News, police received a report at around 5:33 AM on August 5 after a friend contacted authorities, saying she had attempted suicide during a livestream.
The incident reportedly took place at her officetel in Hangangno-dong, where she was broadcasting live on TikTok. The livestream is said to have captured the incident before it ended.
As the broadcast unfolded, viewers also took to X (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms to urgently ask police to intervene.
The Japanese fan, who lived in Seoul’s Yongsan District, had built a following of more than 80,000 people on TikTok. One of her most-watched videos features ENHYPEN’s Ni-Ki and has more than 1.5 million views.
The Seoul Yongsan Police Station is currently investigating the exact circumstances surrounding her death.
