NCT Wish has officially reached a dazzling new height, securing platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for their sensational single “Yo-i-don!/Boy Meets Girl,” as announced by the organization on Tuesday. This is an absolutely massive achievement for the rising NCT subunit!
The single, a vibrant collection of two summery Japanese-language tracks, has officially surpassed an incredible 250,000 shipments – a monumental first for NCT Wish. Fans have been raving about the upbeat original tune “Yo-i-don!” and their fantastic remake of TRF’s iconic 1994 hit, “Boy Meets Girl.” The single made a strong impression right from its debut on Oricon’s Daily Single Ranking back in July.
Adding to the excitement, the six-member act gave an unforgettable preview of the song at a sold-out fan meetup in Tokyo, held just before its official release. This special event also marked a beautiful celebration of the group’s second anniversary since debut.
In a remarkably short two years, NCT Wish has already carved out an impressive legacy. They’ve dropped three dynamic mini albums, each showcasing their unique sound and incredible talent. Their debut EP shattered records in Korea, selling over 790,000 copies in its first week – an unparalleled feat for an act that debuted in 2024. Following this trailblazing success, their subsequent EPs soared to become million-sellers, firmly cementing NCT Wish as a formidable force in the K-Pop industry.
