The wait was finally over. KBS Drama’s new series ‘OK! Let’s Get Divorced’ premiered on August 19, marking actress Lee Min Jung’s return to television dramas after six years. The actress, who starred in the hit drama ‘Once Again,’ which reached a peak nationwide rating of 37%, returned with another story centered on marriage and divorce.
The new drama, which premiered on August 19, follows a married couple who run a wedding dress shop as they attempt to put an end to their exhausting marriage and navigate the realities of divorce. Director Joo Sung Woo, known for ‘Man in the Kitchen,’ ‘Monster,’ and ‘Witch at Court,’ joined forces with writer Hwang Ji Eon for the series.
Lee Min Jung’s Grand Return to the Small Screen
One of the biggest reasons ‘OK! Let’s Get Divorced’ drew attention was Lee Min Jung’s return. She returned to a leading role in a television drama six years after starring in the 2020 KBS2 weekend drama ‘Once Again.’

‘Once Again,’ in which Lee Min Jung starred opposite Lee Sang Yeob as the main couple, was a major hit. The drama recorded a nationwide peak rating of 37.0% according to Nielsen Korea and was widely loved for its warm portrayal of divorce, reconciliation, and family bonds through the story of the turbulent Song family.
In her comeback project, Lee Min Jung once again portrayed a woman standing at the crossroads of marriage and divorce. She played Baek Mi Young, the CEO of wedding dress shop G&White. After losing her parents at a young age, Mi Young devoted herself to work before falling in love with Ji Won Ho, the man who made her laugh, and marrying him.
However, after seven years of marriage, the accumulated stress and conflicts from both work and home became too much for her to bear, ultimately leading her to announce that she wanted a divorce.
The irony of Mi Young running a wedding dress shop that creates some of the happiest moments in people’s lives while watching her own marriage fall apart added another layer of complexity to her character. Lee Min Jung was expected to portray the realistic emotional journey of a woman caught between work and love, as well as lingering affection and emotional wounds.
After completing the script reading, Lee Min Jung said, “It will be an entertaining drama that many people can relate to, laugh with, and cry with, so I hope you will show it lots of interest.”
A Marriage on the Brink: Lee Min Jung and Kim Ji Suk’s On-Screen Chemistry
Lee Min Jung and Kim Ji Suk play a married couple in their seventh year of marriage, marking their first time working together as an on-screen couple. Lee Hyun Jin, Lee Jini, Oh Yeon Ah, Jung Eui Je, Wang Bit Na, Koo Sung Hwan, Moon Hee Kyung, and Ahn Nae Sang also joined the cast.

Kim Ji Suk plays Ji Won Ho, Baek Mi Young’s husband and the co-CEO of G&White. A wedding dress designer, Won Ho fell in love with Mi Young at first sight, proposed after just six months of dating, and eventually married her.
However, their marriage did not unfold the way they had dreamed. As both spouses and co-CEOs of the same company, the two became exhausted by repeated conflicts as the boundaries between their professional and personal lives gradually disappeared.
Eventually, Won Ho received Mi Young’s divorce announcement, marking a major turning point in his life.
‘OK! Let’s Get Divorced’ marks Lee Min Jung and Kim Ji Suk’s first time working together. Previously released teasers and posters highlighted the dramatic contrast between the couple’s newlywed days, when simply looking at each other filled them with excitement, and their current seventh year of marriage, when they had become so distant that they could barely speak to one another.
Beyond the Papers: Unraveling Complex Relationships

However, the drama does not stop at the moment the couple decided to divorce. Instead, it follows the emotions and wounds they were forced to confront as they attempted to legally and realistically end their relationship.
Their past love, family, and the company they built together are all intertwined, making their separation far more complicated than simply deciding to part ways.
Writer Hwang identified healing, secrets, and love-hate as the key themes running throughout the drama. The couple’s divorce process also became a journey of bringing long-ignored wounds to the surface and beginning to heal them. Their emotions, swinging between the extremes of love and hatred, were expected to drive the story forward.
Love Triangles, Family Drama, and Unexpected Twists
One of the drama’s biggest points of intrigue is the hidden reason behind the couple’s divorce.
Previously released highlights reveals that Baek Mi Young and Ji Won Ho had suffered the pain of losing a child. Their inability to talk about their wounds appeared to have created a deep rift between them over time.
Adding another complication is Calvin, Mi Young’s first love and former boyfriend, who was now a hotel CEO. Played by Lee Hyun Jin, Calvin reconnects with Mi Young after she left him in the past and actively approached her under the guise of work.
Meanwhile, photographer Ahn Hee Joo, played by Lee Jini, enters Won Ho’s life. Hee Joo had previously crossed paths with Won Ho in Milan and openly expressed her feelings after fate brought them together again.

The appearances of Calvin and Hee Joo introduce new variables into an already unstable marriage. Writer Hwang Ji Eon teased, “New reasons for the divorce keep popping up whenever you let your guard down,” hinting that unexpected revelations would continually shift the balance of power between the two protagonists.
The couple’s divorce also affects far more than just the two of them. Their employees at G&White, family members, and lawyers all became caught up in the turmoil.
Wang Bit Na plays Song Ari, Mi Young’s college friend and the manager of G&White. A single mother who had been divorced for two years, Ari became Mi Young’s closest source of support.
Jung Eui Je plays Kang Kyung Tae, Won Ho’s close younger friend and the company’s vice president, who took Won Ho’s side.
Koo Sung Hwan and Moon Hee Kyung portray Won Ho’s older brother Ji Seung Ho and mother Ryu Mi Soon, respectively. Both characters frequently interferes in Won Ho’s affairs, unintentionally creating further conflict.
Oh Yeon Ah plays Mi Young’s lawyer, Jeon Chi Hyun, while Ahn Nae Sang plays Won Ho’s lawyer, Bae Soo Ji. The divorce proceedings became even more complicated as the two lawyers, who were connected by a bitter history, engaged in a battle of pride.
Premiere Shockers: A Marriage Unravels Before Our Eyes
From the first episode, which aired on August 19, Mi Young and Won Ho’s relationship faces an irreversible crisis.
While preparing to film a variety show appearance together as a married couple, Won Ho lost his temper, while Mi Young desperately tried to calm him down. However, his anger did not easily subside. Even with other people around, he continued to lash out at Mi Young, escalating the tension between them.

The incident that pushed their emotions to the breaking point immediately raised questions about what had caused the couple’s relationship to deteriorate so severely.
The drama also revisited the couple’s happier past. Their story unfolded across different points in time, showing how two people who once loved each other passionately became worn down by practical problems and repeated arguments.
One particularly tense scene showed Mi Young in tears while holding a knife. Appearing devastated and deeply wounded, Mi Young seemed overwhelmed by intense emotions. The scene left viewers wondering what had driven her to such an extreme state and where the knife was ultimately directed.
The production team teased that the hidden reasons behind the couple’s divorce would fuel viewers’ curiosity and asked audiences to follow the couple as their divorce proceedings created increasingly turbulent waves and ultimately determined what kind of ending awaited them.
‘OK! Let’s Get Divorced’ is airing on KBS Drama and GTV. The series is also made available through streaming platforms following its broadcast.
