The United States proudly led the pack as the biggest importer of K-pop albums during the period, with a staggering $74.12 million worth of imports. Following closely behind were dedicated fans in China, contributing $61.18 million, and Japan with $45.61 million. This strong performance in major markets underscores K-pop’s broad appeal.

But the love doesn’t stop there! Rounding out the top 10 were Germany, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Britain, France, and Poland, proving K-pop’s reach extends across continents and diverse cultures.

BTS and BLACKPINK Lead the Charge

Leading this phenomenal surge were two of K-pop’s biggest names. Global superstars BTS made a triumphant return with their highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Arirang,” released in March. This marked their first new album in three years and nine months, and it predictably conquered Billboard’s main charts, fueling immense fan excitement and record sales worldwide.

Not to be outdone, iconic group BLACKPINK also contributed significantly to these record-breaking figures. Their third mini album, “Deadline,” dropped in February and quickly became a fan favorite, selling nearly 2 million copies by June. These powerhouse groups continue to prove their unparalleled influence and appeal, driving the K-pop phenomenon to new heights and setting new standards for global music success.
