On August 4, KST, the group released their latest single, “SWEAT,” along with an eye-catching music video that has since racked up over 14 million views on YouTube alone.

However, this explosive response eventually led to controversy, as many netizens claimed that the music video was eerily similar to the music video for “TUZAK,” a song by the Turkish girl group AURA.

Aside from the overall visual concept, fans pointed out there were some frame-by-frame similarities, including a few overlapping dance steps.

However, many fans came to KISS OF LIFE’s defense, pointing out that the timeline of their song’s production proved these accusations wrong. Firstly, the group’s member Belle had told a fan that the choreography of “SWEAT” was already finalized back in May, and AURA’s song wasn’t released until July 10. Additionally, there were more pieces of evidence suggesting KISS OF LIFE had already filmed the music video by June.

Some also pointed out that Mnet approved the “SWEAT” music video for broadcast just six days after AURA released “TUZAK,” making it nearly impossible for the similarities between the two productions to be intentional.

While the opinions on this issue remain divided, KISS OF LIFE’s comeback seems to be enjoying a highly positive response from their global fans.
