Jung Ga Eun Reveals Post-Divorce Struggles: No Child Support

Korean actress Jung Ga Eun has bravely opened up about the deeply personal journey of losing contact with her ex-husband after their divorce and the harsh reality of not receiving child support, all while navigating the emotional landscape of raising her daughter alone. Her heartfelt confession has resonated with many.

This candid revelation came to light on July 25th, with the release of a poignant video titled “Rollercoaster Goddess Jung Ga Eun 10 Years Later: Recent Updates” on YouTube, offering fans a rare glimpse into her life.

Maintaining a Connection, Facing Disappointment

In the video, Jung Ga Eun shared her earnest efforts to maintain a relationship with her ex-husband, even after their separation, primarily for their daughter’s well-being. “I separated because we didn’t get along, but I couldn’t erase the presence of the father for my child,” she explained, highlighting her dedication. “I tried my best to let her meet her dad, but that didn’t work out well.”

The situation took a heartbreaking turn about two to two and a half years post-divorce. “I found out that huge amounts of money were involved, and on the day I checked the bank account, it was zero. The last record was his departure overseas, and after that, I lost contact,” she revealed, detailing the abrupt end to communication and financial support. Adding to the sympathy, she candidly stated, “What child support? Even after the divorce, he asked me to lend him money.”

The Hardest Moments: Explaining Absence

Jung Ga Eun vividly recalled the difficult conversations she had to have with her daughter regarding her father’s absence. “When my daughter was about seven, she asked, ‘Why don’t I live with dad?’ and ‘Why don’t you call dad?’ That was the hardest moment,” she shared, demonstrating the painful reality of her situation. She sought to protect her daughter’s feelings, gently telling her, “Mom can’t reach him either.”

A particularly emotional moment was recounted from a Taekwondo academy event. “At a Taekwondo academy event where parents were invited forward, when I heard the words ‘Dads, please come forward,’ I almost lost it,” she confessed, her raw emotions palpable. “I feel sorry that my daughter never got to live with any kind of father.”

Reflecting on Marriage and Embracing the Future

Looking back at her marriage, Jung Ga Eun admitted, “At the time, I really wanted to get married and was very lonely. I was the type to fall in love quickly when I met someone.” She even believed, “When I had my daughter, I thought, ‘This must be fate telling me to get married.’” However, she later realized, “You can’t really know someone’s lifestyle or habits just from dating,” clarifying that while she learned about “other issues” after the divorce, “those were not the direct reasons for the divorce.”

Jung Ga Eun has been a devoted single mother, raising her daughter alone since divorcing a businessman in 2018. Despite the personal challenges, she remains incredibly active in her career. Recently, she has graced the stage in the play “Dangerous People” and continues to engage in various activities, including regular appearances on a health program and managing her popular YouTube channel, showcasing her resilience and strength.
