GOT7’s Youngjae Demands Unpaid Musical Fees, Says ‘Settle Payment’

GOT7’s Youngjae Calls Out Unpaid Musical Fees Again

GOT7’s Youngjae is once again voicing his profound frustration over unpaid musical appearance fees. The idol recently took to his social media on July 20, reposting a statement he originally shared in June, underscoring that the long-standing payment issue remains stubbornly unresolved.

With a clear demand, Youngjae wrote alongside his repost, “Please settle the payment~ And have a happy Monday.” This latest plea highlights the ongoing nature of a problem that has plagued him for months. In his original June post, he detailed the broken promises: “I remember being told everything would be resolved by June 9, but it still hasn’t been settled. By August, it will have been almost a year since the payment issue remained unresolved.”

Youngjae continued, expressing a deep sense of exasperation and betrayal: “Did I ask for money unfairly? I wanted to resolve this amicably. But we’re not the ones who made the situation uncomfortable. They said it would be settled within this month, but how many times have I heard that already?” His words paint a picture of an artist who is tired of waiting and of assurances that repeatedly fall through.

The Lingering ‘Dream High 2’ Payment Saga

This ongoing payment saga first surfaced in December of last year, when reports indicated that the production company behind the musical ‘Dream High 2’ had failed to compensate several cast members for months of their hard work.

At the time, Kim Eun Ha, CEO of Art One Company, responded to the accusations. She stated, “We reached an amicable agreement with GOT7 Youngjae’s side to complete the settlement process for the remaining unpaid fees by June. We intend to prioritize our promise to the actor and complete the payment process within the agreed deadline.”

However, Youngjae’s agency, Andbut Company, quickly disputed this claim, revealing a different side to the story. They explicitly stated, “We never agreed to or confirmed the end of June as the deadline for repayment of the unpaid appearance fees.”

Andbut Company further explained their skepticism regarding the production company’s intentions. “The other party verbally stated that they would prepare and deliver a repayment plan. However, they had already submitted a repayment plan at the end of last year, and the schedule outlined at that time was never honored. Therefore, we do not believe that the submission of another repayment plan alone sufficiently demonstrates either a genuine intention to repay or the ability to fulfill the obligation.” This repeated failure to honor previous repayment plans underscores the agency’s lack of faith and Youngjae’s prolonged frustration.
