ENA’s ‘New Recruit 4: Sabotage’ Confirms Cast & Premiere Date

‘New Recruit 4: Sabotage’ Kicks Off Production & Sets Premiere

ENA’s much-anticipated military comedy, ‘New Recruit 4: Sabotage,’ has officially kicked off production, thrilling fans eagerly awaiting its return. The network has also treated viewers to a sneak peek with script reading photos, building excitement for its premiere on August 24 at 10 PM KST, airing on Monday and Tuesday nights.

This marks the fourth season of the ‘New Recruit’ series, a beloved hyper-realistic military comedy originally adapted from an animation. The show is known for its hilarious portrayal of a privileged recruit navigating a unit brimming with eccentric personalities. Director Min Jin Ki and writer Yoon Ki Young are back at the helm, joined by writer Kim Dan, who contributed to the previous season, ensuring the series’ signature humor and charm continue.

Familiar Faces Return, New Challenges Arise

This new season promises a major shake-up within the unit. Kim Min Ho reprises his role as Sergeant Park Min Seok, whose usually quiet senior military life is about to be turned upside down by three simultaneous events: the return of Choi Il Gu as a staff sergeant, the arrival of a new, inscrutable recruit, and a new battalion commander.

Nam Tae Woo steps back into the role of Choi Il Gu, making a significant leap from senior private to the unit’s youngest non-commissioned officer, now straddling the line between enlisted men and officers. Kim Yo Han also returns as Moon Bit Nari, who finds himself with the added responsibility of managing his own junior.

Adding to the familiar faces, Kim Dong Jun is back as Jeon Se Gye, the soldier who’s perhaps adapted a bit too comfortably to army life, and Oh Dae Hwan returns as the ever-present company commander Jo Baek Ho.

New Recruits and Commanders Join the Unit

The unit also welcomes two compelling new additions. Lee Hyun Gyun takes on the role of Battalion Commander Byun Hyuk Jin, arriving with a mission to implement an ‘advanced barracks’ agenda at the Shinwha unit. Joining him is Lee Won Jung as Kim Hyun Wook, the capable yet hard-to-read new recruit whose presence will undoubtedly add a new dynamic to the barracks.
