Cortis has once again shattered expectations, cementing their status as a global K-Pop powerhouse! Their second EP, “GreenGreen,” has officially surpassed an astonishing 3 million cumulative sales, making them a triple million-seller in an incredible less than three months since its release. This monumental achievement showcases the group’s meteoric rise in the industry.
Cortis’s “GreenGreen” Achieves Triple Million Status
According to the latest weekly album chart released by Circle Chart on Thursday, “GreenGreen” has sold approximately 3.1 million copies since its debut on May 4. This rapid success, achieved in just 11 weeks, places Cortis in an elite club; among all albums released in Korea this year, only BTS’s fifth LP, “Arirang,” and “GreenGreen” have managed to surpass the 3 million mark on the Circle Chart. This puts Cortis in truly legendary company.
Their overall sales figures are just as impressive. Combined with the more than 2.15 million copies sold by their groundbreaking debut EP, “Color Outside the Lines,” Cortis has now sold over 5.25 million albums across their first two releases. This incredible feat was accomplished within a mere 11 months of their debut, highlighting their unparalleled trajectory.
Unprecedented Domestic Chart Performance
The success story of “GreenGreen” began on day one. Hanteo Chart reported the EP debuted as a million-seller upon its release, with about 1.2 million copies sold. The momentum didn’t stop there, as it swiftly surpassed 2 million copies within just four days. Its first-week sales soared to an astounding 2.3 million copies, a staggering five times more than the 436,367 copies sold by their debut EP during its initial week.
Global Domination: Billboard & Spotify Success
Cortis’s influence extends far beyond Korea. “GreenGreen” made a massive splash internationally, debuting at an impressive No. 3 on the highly coveted Billboard 200 chart. This marks the group’s highest placement on the US albums chart and solidifies Cortis’s unique position as the only boy group to debut within the past five years to reach the chart’s top three. Demonstrating its sustained global appeal, the EP has remained a strong presence on the chart for an impressive 10 consecutive weeks. Adding to their international digital dominance, tracks from “GreenGreen” have collectively surpassed a staggering 300 million streams on Spotify as of Monday.
World Tour & Festival Stage: Cortis Takes On North America
The global takeover continues with a packed schedule for Cortis. Fans are eagerly anticipating their performances at Lollapalooza Chicago on July 31 and August 1, where they hold the distinction of being the only K-pop boy group on this year’s highly anticipated lineup. Following this, the group will embark on the North American leg of their “Put Your Phone Down” tour. They are set to captivate audiences in six major cities – Toronto, New York, Atlanta, Irving, Los Angeles, and San Francisco – from August 4 to 16. With record-breaking sales and an expanding global footprint, Cortis is undoubtedly a group to watch as they continue to redefine what’s possible in K-Pop.
