ARMY Rejoices: BTS Santiago Concerts Get Official Green Light!

SEOUL – The wait is over, ARMY! After a period of uncertainty, BTS’s highly anticipated concerts in Santiago, Chile, have officially received the green light! Fans can now mark their calendars for October 14, 16, and 17 as the K-Pop superstars prepare to light up Estadio Nacional.

ARMY Power: Securing the Santiago Dates

This exciting development comes after local promoter DG Medios successfully submitted a revised production plan on July 21, addressing earlier concerns from Chile’s National Sports Institute regarding potential damage to the iconic stadium’s playing field. The initial decision to decline authorization had sparked a strong backlash from dedicated BTS fans, known collectively as ARMY, who actively demonstrated, urging authorities to reconsider – and their passionate efforts certainly played a pivotal role!

Ensuring Estadio Nacional’s Protection

The approved revisions are a testament to responsible planning, incorporating technical modifications specifically designed to protect Estadio Nacional’s vital sports infrastructure. Key changes include preventing heavy machinery from traversing the grass during the 360-degree stage setup; instead, cranes will operate from the athletics track. Furthermore, a state-of-the-art protective covering equipped with ventilation technology will be installed to ensure the grass remains healthy throughout the entire production. Authorities were satisfied with the comprehensive engineering study that accompanied the revised proposal, expecting it to significantly shorten the field’s recovery time compared to the original plans. DG Medios expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Sports, the National Sports Institute, and Estadio Nacional officials, highlighting a collaborative effort to find a solution. “We remain committed to delivering a first-class experience for BTS and their fans while producing the shows responsibly and complying with all technical requirements established by the authorities to protect Estadio Nacional’s infrastructure,” the promoter stated.

A Historic Return and Global Tour Continues

These Santiago dates are a crucial part of BTS’s ongoing “Arirang” world tour, which kicked off in April following the release of their fifth album of the same name on March 21. For Chilean ARMY, these concerts hold special significance: they mark BTS’s first performances in the country since the “Wings” tour back in March 2017. Moreover, BTS will make history as the first Korean act to stage a standalone concert at Estadio Nacional, adding another incredible achievement to their illustrious career. The Latin American leg of the “Arirang” tour is set to begin in October, right after BTS concludes their North American run. Beyond Santiago, fans in Bogota, Lima, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo are also eagerly awaiting their chance to witness the global phenomenon live. Get ready for an unforgettable experience as BTS brings their electrifying energy to South America!
