During BTS’s “ARIRANG” world tour stop in Arlington, Texas, this past Saturday, a group of children facing serious illnesses were invited to experience the magic of the show. It was there that Jimin noticed Olivya, a pediatric cancer patient, in the audience. With a gaze full of warmth, the idol walked directly towards her, offering a tender embrace and a gentle kiss on her cheek.
Overwhelmed with joy by the unexpected interaction, Olivya couldn’t contain her excitement, exclaiming, “I got a kiss!” as the concert buzz surrounded her. Heroes for Children and ARMY’s Unforgettable Impact
The beautiful encounter was brought to light on Monday by Heroes for Children, a U.S. nonprofit dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families. This remarkable organization had made arrangements for Olivya and other children to attend the highly anticipated BTS concert.
In a poignant statement, Heroes for Children shared the profound impact of the moment: “For a child who has faced some incredibly difficult moments, Jimin gave Olivya a moment filled with joy, love and pure happiness,” adding that it is “a memory she and her family will carry with them forever.”
Inspired by the widespread emotional response to Olivya’s story, the nonprofit initiated a $50,000 fundraising campaign aimed at assisting children and families affected by childhood cancer in Texas. The incredible power of ARMY, BTS’s devoted fandom, shone brightly as they rallied together, not only meeting but surpassing the initial goal. In less than a day, ARMY had contributed an astonishing $50,923.87, once again demonstrating their unparalleled generosity and collective heart.
