BTS’s “Arirang” Rewrites K-Pop History on Billboard 200

Global sensation BTS continues to dominate the charts, with their fifth album “Arirang” soaring to No. 9 on the Billboard 200, as confirmed by the chart preview released Sunday for the Aug. 1 dated chart. This impressive leap of 17 rungs from the previous week not only highlights the album’s incredible longevity but also marks a historic milestone: “Arirang” has now spent 13 weeks in the top ten on the main albums chart, an unprecedented achievement for any K-pop artist.

The album’s enduring success received a significant boost from the recent release of an exclusive vinyl edition, which delighted fans with two bonus tracks, “Voice Message: Love Song” and “Normal.” This special release, coupled with the group’s unforgettable performance at the halftime show for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, propelled sales and reignited chart momentum. “Arirang” initially made a chart-topping debut on the Billboard 200 when it dropped in March, going on to dominate the coveted No. 1 spot for a total of three weeks.

The momentum isn’t slowing down for ARMYs in the US, as BTS is set to return next week for a highly anticipated tour, visiting seven cities and performing 16 shows.
