BLACKPINK Celebrates 10 Years with Royal Heritage Merch

A Royal Collaboration Unveiled: BLACKPINK’s 10th Anniversary Merch

Get ready, BLINKs! K-pop sensation BLACKPINK is celebrating a monumental milestone – their 10th debut anniversary – with an extraordinary new merchandise line. Teaming up with MU:DS, the official goods brand of Korea’s national museums, the “BLACKPINK HERITAGE COLLECTION” is set to drop, blending profound royal Korean history with the group’s iconic style.

According to YG Plus, this isn’t just any merch drop. The collection, comprising seven unique items, draws profound inspiration from the “jeogui wonbon,” a stunning garment pattern for an empress’s ceremonial robe housed at the National Museum of Korea (NMK). Imagine the grandeur: traditional “hanji” paper adorned with 12 rows of majestic pheasant motifs, symbolizing the empress herself, alongside elegant plum blossom designs representing the imperial household of the Korean Empire.

The Heritage Collection: Blending History and K-Pop

Developed under the compelling slogan “Heritage, Where Time Becomes Value,” this collection “reinterprets the royal motifs through the group’s visual identity, presenting itself as a branding project rather than conventional artist merchandise.” This unique approach promises items that are not only beautiful but deeply meaningful, reflecting a captivating fusion of past and present, tradition and trend. It truly elevates the concept of artist merchandise, offering fans a piece of both K-Pop history and Korean cultural heritage that can be treasured for years to come.

Availability and Anniversary Significance

Fans can get their first glimpse and place pre-orders this Saturday, which coincidentally marks the group’s actual 10th anniversary! The items will be on display at the merch shop inside the museum’s permanent exhibition hall, while preorders open simultaneously on YG SELECT’s online stores, accessible in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese. Mark your calendars, as online orders are scheduled to ship starting from September.

Saturday, August 8, 2016, is a date etched in K-pop history – the day BLACKPINK debuted with their double title tracks “Whistle” and “Boombayah.” Ten years later, their global impact only continues to grow. This isn’t their first venture with the NMK either; earlier this year in February, ahead of their “DEADLINE” EP release, BLACKPINK partnered with the museum and Spotify. That groundbreaking project saw the museum bathed in pink light and featured the four members as audio docents for eight priceless artifacts, marking the first large-scale museum collaboration by a K-pop act. This new collection further solidifies BLACKPINK’s role not just as music icons, but as cultural ambassadors, continually finding innovative ways to connect with their immense fanbase and share the richness of Korean culture.
