Big Bang Ignites 20th Anniversary World Tour, Teases New Music!
The wait is over! K-Pop icons Big Bang, now a powerhouse three-member act, have triumphantly kicked off their monumental 20th-anniversary world tour, promising fans “more music and performances” ahead. The legendary group held its first full-group concert in nearly nine years in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, signaling that a vibrant new chapter has truly begun for the kings of K-Pop.
“XX: Cosmos,” held from Friday to Sunday at Goyang Stadium, was a spectacle that drew more than 100,000 dedicated fans over three electrifying days. The excitement reached a fever pitch toward the end of Sunday’s show, as the members dropped hints that more music would be on the way, following “Biiig,” the highly anticipated digital single released on their anniversary, Aug. 19.
Ever the playful instigator, Daesung sparked the conversation, asking if concluding the group’s 20th-anniversary festivities with just one song felt “a little disappointing.” Taeyang quickly agreed, quipping, “If we end with just one song called ‘Biiig,’ that’s not really big. That’s extra small.” G-Dragon, the brilliant mind behind “Biiig,” joined in, hinting at his prolific creative process: once he starts working on music, “it comes quickly,” strongly suggesting a stream of new releases is on the horizon for V.I.P.s.
A Journey Through Time: Classic Hits Reignite the Stage
Before diving headfirst into the future, the members lovingly dedicated much of the nearly 2 1/2-hour show to revisiting the iconic music that cemented Big Bang’s status as one of K-pop’s most defining and influential acts.
As the members majestically rose onto the stage, the atmosphere exploded as they powered through a medley of their timeless hits: “Fantastic Baby,” “Hands Up” and “Tonight.” The crowd, a sea of passionate V.I.P.s, erupted into thunderous chants of “Big Bang” as fans waved the group’s distinctive crown-shaped light sticks, painting dazzling patterns across the stands.
“Big Bang is back,” G-Dragon declared with charismatic swagger, reviving one of the group’s best-known slogans associated with their biggest comebacks and reunions. “Let’s have fun tonight.” The first act seamlessly transitioned through some of the group’s most recognizable and emotionally resonant hits, including “Blue,” “Loser,” “If You” and “Bad Boy,” before injecting playful energy with “Bae Bae.” The stadium transformed into a massive singalong as “Haru Haru” and “Lies” followed, with songs released well over a decade ago met by fans shouting back the lyrics almost word for word, a testament to their enduring legacy.
Solo Brilliance Shines: Members Showcase Individual Power
The concert then shifted gears, moving into captivating individual performances that brilliantly highlighted how much the three members have cultivated their unique musical identities during Big Bang’s long hiatus.
Daesung kicked off the solo section with the powerful “Universe,” the lead track from his upcoming 2025 solo LP “D’s Wave.” He then unleashed the infectious, trot-heavy energy of “Hando Chogua” and “Look At Me, Gwisun,” effortlessly continuing the playful, experimental style he famously showcased during Big Bang’s show-stopping Coachella stage in April.
Taeyang, the “White Night” himself, captivated the audience with “Bad” and “Live Fast Die Slow” from his latest solo album, “Quintessence,” before delivering a powerful rendition of “Ringa Linga,” one of his most celebrated solo tracks from 2014.
Big Bang’s undisputed fashionista, G-Dragon, made a dramatic entrance, sporting a chic black Chanel cashmere hat paired with a striking red Chrome Hearts jacket. He wrapped up the solos with “Power” from his anticipated 2025 album “Ubermensch,” as well as electrifying fan favorites “Crayon” and “Crooked,” leaving the crowd utterly mesmerized.
“Biiig” Moments & Heartfelt Promises for the Future
The trio then reunited on stage for another explosive, high-octane run of hits with “Bang Bang Bang,” “Stupid Liar” and “Sober” before launching into the highly anticipated first live performance of “Biiig.” Backed by an incredible live band, towering moving LED structures, dazzling pyrotechnics and perfectly synchronized lasers, the performance of their new single served as one of the night’s defining and most visually stunning moments.

“We’ve finally performed together again after eight years and eight months. At this rate, maybe we’ll still be performing when we’re 88,” Taeyang mused with a smile. He added, “The last few years we spent with fans passed in the blink of an eye because they had been filled with precious memories. We promise to repay your support with more music and performances throughout the anniversary year and many more years to come.” Daesung echoed his bandmate’s sentiments, sharing that he had come to realize “how important it was to appreciate moments like these while living them rather than only recognizing their value after they had passed.”

G-Dragon, known for his charismatic stage presence, grew visibly emotional during his heartfelt closing remarks. “When I began preparations for my solo comeback, it was my goal to finish my solo tour and wrap up Big Bang’s concert with today’s show,” he said, pausing to collect himself as the emotion swelled. “I was happy when I finished my solo tour, but today, I’m even happier. The concert concluded with an unforgettable encore featuring beloved tracks like “My Heaven,” “Sunset Glow,” “Last Farewell,” “Feeling,” “Flower Road” and “Still Life.” While many older songs had been skillfully rearranged for the current three-member lineup, T.O.P’s original vocals powerfully remained in “Still Life” — the final song Big Bang recorded together as four — providing one final, poignant and truly emotional moment before the lights gently came up, leaving fans with cherished memories.
Big Bang will continue its “XX: Cosmos” world tour through February 2027, taking their electrifying performances across the globe. Following North American and European stops beginning in September, the iconic trio will head to Asia and Oceania from October as part of their epic 19-city tour.
